Attention on China (Henan) International Investment & Trade Fair: Over 30 Countries and Over 80 Delegations Attended the 2016 Henan Economic and Trade Cooperation Fair for International Sister Cities

The Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the People’s Government Henan Province on April 1 held the press conference to release the preparations for the 2016 Henan Economic and Trade Cooperation Fair for International Sister Cities, in which over 30 countries and over 80 delegations of the Fair will attend with over 40 projects under signing intention.
The 2016 Henan Economic and Trade Cooperation Fair for International Sister Cities (hereinafter referred to as the Henan Fair for Sister Cities) is a major activity of the 10th China (Henan) International Investment & Trade Fair, which will be held in Zhengzhou on April 8. Themed on “Cities Connecting the Friendship and Industries Promoting the Cooperation”, the Henan Fair for Sister Cities will carry out special-topic-based marketing meeting, industrial alignment and project negotiation for contract, center on the construction of China’s “Belt & Road” initiative and Henan province’s three major national strategic planning, conduct the industrial undertaking and transfer by greatly taking advantage of the resources of international sister cities, and realize the resource sharing, advantage complementing, and win-win cooperation.
The Henan Fair for Sister Cities plans to invite over 300 persons, including representatives of the governments and enterprises from international sister cities, officials of foreign embassies and consulates to China, representatives of famous business associations at home and abroad, delegates of overseas Chinese communities, executives of some transnational corporations and well-known overseas companies, etc., which covers over 30 countries and over 80 delegations. Henan province will also have over 200 enterprises to participate in the Henan Fair for Sister Cities. Through alignment at early stage, over 40 projects are planned for signing onsite, including over 30 economic and trade projects involved in hi-tech modern agriculture, automobile manufacturing, medical treatment & public health, tourism and real estate, financial investment, scientific & cultural education, cross-border e-commerce trade, and other fields.
Compared to the 1st Henan Fair for Sister Cities held last year, this one has two major features: firstly, its scale is bigger with higher class, and the quantity of invited foreign delegations doubles, including nine of provincial level; secondly, it highlights on the cooperation between Henan province and the member states of Shanghai Cooperation Organization and countries along the “Belt & Road”, according to Wang Ziwen, Deputy Director of the Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the People’s Government Henan Province.
Currently, Henan province and 46 countries have 106 pairs of cities establishing the relationship of international sister cities, ranking high nationwide, among which there are 38 pairs of provincial level and 68 pairs of municipal level. For recent years, Henan province has strived for expanding new channels for international sister cities, developed very effective cooperation with such cities in many fields, such as economic and trade, culture, tourism, education, health, environmental protection, and talent training, and built up new platform for Henan province’s comprehensive opening-up.
