A total of 200 overseas enterprises from 45 countries and regions lined up for one-on-one talks with more than 700 domestic enterprises from 18 cities in Henan Province. When they have a congenial talk, they may agree on the time for a field visit on the spot. It doesn't matter if not, because there are still six or seven enterprises awaiting you!

As this scene at the meeting is very similar to that at a collective blind date, many participating enterprises have dubbed the meeting as "a cross-border blind date" for Chinese and overseas enterprises.

As the meeting is one of the highlights of the 13th China (Henan) International Investment and Trade Fair (CHIITF), the Henan Provincial People's Government and the Bank of China are once again acting as "matchmakers" for Chinese and overseas enterprises to build bridges of cooperation and exchange. Chen Run'er, Governor of Henan Provincial People's Government, and Liu Liange, President of Bank of China, attended the event and delivered a speech respectively. Representatives of businessmen from home and abroad voiced their opinions and a signing ceremony was held at the scene.

The 878 one-on-one talks led to 278 preliminary agreements on site.

"Through this platform, Jiaozuo City proactively encourages local enterprises to "go out" and introduces a number of projects. Over the past three years, more than 30 enterprises are engaged in the projects that have landed or have made substantive progress, and the accumulative amount of those projects has reached 8.3 billion yuan." On the spot of yesterday's meeting, Xu Yixian, Mayor of Jiaozuo City, kept exclaiming in an interview. He said that this was his third consecutive year of participating in the meeting of its kind, where he went through a new experience and has new gains every time.

Mayor Xu Yixian revealed that over the past three years, Jiaozuo has organized an accumulative total of more than 400 enterprises to participate in this event, which has pushed Jiaozuo enterprises to go abroad and seek new partners and new business opportunities in the international market. This broadens the vision of Jiaozuo entrepreneurs, expands the business channels of Jiaozuo enterprises, and also promotes the deep integration of Jiaozuo into the international market.

Jiaozuo carefully selected 33 high-quality enterprises with high growth and good prospects to participate in the current CHIITF. Those enterprises are engaged in such fields and industries as equipment manufacturing, bio-medicine, trade and logistics, energy and environmental protection, cultural tourism, etc. He expressed the hope that through face-to-face talks between Chinese and foreign enterprises, a batch of high-quality projects with cost-effectiveness and stable returns should be precisely introduced into Jiaozuo.

"Before the meeting, the host has considerately and precisely made matches for one-on-one negotiation according to the needs of the enterprises, which greatly improves the probability of success of the 'blind date.'" On the scene of the event, Song Jihong, Executive Director of Henan YASCN Software Technology Co., Ltd., said in an interview that this was the third time the company participated and it harvested a lot every time. Last year, the company established cooperation with customers in Russia and Mauritius, and successfully opened up the new markets. This year, face-to-face communication will be conducted with several businessmen from four countries and regions including Kenya, Indonesia and Angola, and it is anticipated to reach a couple of preliminary agreements in cooperation.

The reporter of Dahe Daily·Dahe Client APP learned that the meeting of "cross-border blind date" on the day organized a total of 6 rounds of 878 one-on-one matchmaking talks, and consequently 278 transaction intentions and 123 further intentions for field visits were reached on the spot, which became a small climax of the CHIITF on the day.

"Cross-border Blind Date" at Home Pushes Henan Enterprises into Fast Track

"The three years of participating in the matchmaking meeting of cross-border investment and trade projects of industrial and commercial enterprises are those of our enterprise's development at the fastest speed!" At the event site, Wang Hui, Chairman of Zhengzhou Xuri Import and Export Co., Ltd., said in an interview that as a company engaged in import and export trade, it used to seek overseas customers by attending various exhibitions at home and abroad, which was time-consuming, laborsome and costly. Now the CHIITF has arranged the "cross-border blind date" in our doorway. As a result, many good foreign enterprises and products have been brought to Zhengzhou, making the company's foreign cooperation much easier at once.

"In order to make full use of resources, the company sent three teams to negotiate with foreign businessmen." Wang Hui stated that with the continuous upgrading of domestic consumption level, people's demand for imported goods is increasing. Over the past three years, the company's business scope has kept expanding gradually from food and drinks to daily necessities and other fields.

It is learned that Henan enterprises that signed up for this "cross-border blind date" are dominated by the advantageous industries in our province, involving modern agriculture, agricultural/sideline products and food processing, high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy and new materials, environmental protection, information technology, bio-pharmaceuticals, elderly care and medical treatment, tourism and education. Among them, some are regular ones who participated in the previous "blind dates", while many new ones. The participating enterprises cover large state-owned or private companies, as well as micro/small/medium companies.

In response, Liu Liange, President of Bank of China (BOC), addressed that BOC dared to be a "matchmaker" for Chinese and foreign enterprises, mainly because it benefits from the state's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). BOC currently has set up branches in 57 countries and regions, including 24 countries under the "BRI". Since the “BOC Global SME Cross-border Matchmaking Services” were launched in 2014, BOC has successfully held 51 cross-border matchmaking meetings in the world, which have attracted a cumulative total of 30,000 Chinese and foreign enterprises from 87 countries and regions on five continents, and received good market response. He added that in the future, BOC will give full play to its advantages of being internationalized and diversified, and support more Henan enterprises to go abroad, as well as more foreign enterprises to enter China and Henan.
