"This year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Hungary. It is a great honor to attend China Henan Investment & Trade Fair on behalf of Hungarian government." On the morning of April 8, at the opening ceremony of the 13th China (Henan) International Investment and Trade Fair (CHIITF), Mr. István Joó, the Deputy State Secretary at Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, the guest country of honor at this CHIITF, stated that this CHIITF shows our commitment to deepening and expanding the bilateral relations between China dn Hungary, and our political and economic relations have never been so mutually beneficial and efficient at country level and province level.

Mr. István Joó said that China's opening up to the East has allowed us to maintain long-term mutually beneficial relations. Hungary has been China's largest destination of export in Eastern Europe in the past few years and bilateral trade has continued to grow.

"The trade volume reached USD 10 billion in 2017 and nearly USD 10.9 billion last year. Now China is Hungary's most important economic and trade partner and also the most important foreign trade partner outside the EU region," said István Joó. Hungary has gradually become the most important investment destination for Chinese companies in Central and Eastern Europe. For example, Bank of China and Huawei have both chosen Hungary as their headquarters location in the European region. In addition, Zhengzhou and Budapest have also opened direct air freight routes.

The reporter from HNR.CN learned that in 2017, the Hungarian National Trading House, Zhengzhou Office was unveiled to be the first foreign government office established in Henan Province. It is of great significance to the development of China (Henan) Pilot Free Trade Zone and to Hungary.

Mr. István Joó said that he believed that the establishment of Hungarian companies in China and the meetings and discussions between Hungarian companies and their Chinese business partners would continue to deepen the existing relations between the two countries. Finally, he wished to thank the relevant departments for hosting this trade fair and thank you very much for your invitation!
