Matchmaking for China Henan Foreign Trade Industrial Base Project, a special event of the 13th CHIITF, is held at April 9, 2019 in Zhengzhou. Ten foreign trade industrial bases in Henan, including Textile and Apparel Foreign Trade Industrial Base in Four Cities in Huanghuai Region, make their spectacular debut at the event for collective promotion. The ten foreign trade industrial bases include: Zhengzhou Airport Zone Intelligent Terminal Foreign Trade Industrial Base, an innovation pioneer, Automobile and Parts Foreign Trade Industrial Base in Zhengzhou and Kaifeng, a technology leader, Engineering Machinery Foreign Trade Industrial Base in Luoyang with a solid foundation, Non-ferrous Metals Foreign Trade Industrial Base in Western Henan with abundant resources, Shorn Sheepskin Products Foreign Trade Industrial Base in Jiaozuo, a leading enterprise, New Petrochemical Materials and Equipment Foreign Trade Industrial Base in Puyang with a complete system, Hair Products Foreign Trade Industrial Base in Xuchang, a national leader, Edible Mushrooms Foreign Trade Industrial Base in Western and Southern Henan with a dynamic ecosystem, Textile and Apparel Foreign Trade Industrial Base in Four Cities in Huanghuai Region, a cluster of textile and other light industries, and Outdoor Recreation Foreign Trade Industrial Base in Pingyu, starting from scratch.
He Jinping, Vice Governor of Henan Province, stated in his speech that at present, 14 national-level foreign trade industrial bases and 38 provincial-level ones in Henan account for over 80% of total provincial trade volume, becoming the key foundation for foreign trade growth and an important engine for transforming and upgrading. Henan Province selects 10 industrial bases for key promotion and cultivation, and endeavors to build a batch of clusters of competitive industries and strengthen the fusion and interaction between industries and trade, so as to give play to industrial and trade agglomeration effect, enhance bases' industrial competence, industrial level, innovation capability and brand influence, and speed up the building of new edges of foreign trade in Henan.
At the matchmaking, Zhengzhou Airport Zone promotes its strategic location, port system, industrial features and operating environment; Luoyang city convenient transportation, comprehensive traffic-carrying platform, solid industrial foundation, advanced technologies, and abundant natural and human resources; Xuchang city convenient transportation, solid industrial foundation, and advanced and leading technologies; other industrial bases their own unique edges respectively.
Guests put forward opinions and suggestion for developing foreign trade industrial bases from different perspective. It is widely agreed that departments concerned should guide all cities to scientifically formulate and implement the base development plan, constantly improve the public service system, further give play to comparative advantages, and promote the intensive and efficient use of production factors so as to drive bases with obvious scale effect to become bigger and stronger, and bases in specialized and subdivided fields to pursue excellence and perfection, and to strengthen bases' role in stimulating local economy.
Meanwhile, all cities should attract investment in leading industries, and introduce both leading enterprises in the industrial chain and enterprises supporting and cooperating with leading ones, both manufacturing enterprises and trade service enterprises so as to bring the brand effect and synergistic advantages of leading enterprises into full play and drive the overall industrial transformation and upgrading. Efforts will be made to create an environment and platform conducive to the gathering of innovative elements such as technology, capital, talent and management, improve the bases' integration and innovation ability, speed up the innovation of technological products, business models and institutional mechanisms, and promote re-innovation after introduction and assimilation, and industrial transformation and upgrading in order to move towards the mid-to-high end of the global value chain.
This event sets up special negotiation zones. After the promotion activity, matchmaking is conducted respectively among bases, export-import banks, export credit insurance companies and comprehensive foreign trade companies.
What are the features of these ten foreign trade industrial bases?
1. Zhengzhou Airport Zone Intelligent Terminal Foreign Trade Industrial Base
Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone boasts over 200 intelligent terminal enterprises such as Foxconn, ZTE and Vivo, and more than 100 supporting enterprises, and has formed a complete industrial chain of "complete set + supporting set + core parts and components" mobile phones, with annual output exceeding 300 billion yuan, foreign trade volume totaling 340 billion yuan, and an annual mobile phone output of more than 1.2 billion, accounting for one seventh of the world's total, making it the world's largest production base for high-end smart phones.
2. Automobile and Parts Foreign Trade Industrial Base in Zhengzhou and Kaifeng
This base boasts over 700 above-scale enterprises in both Zhengzhou and Kaifeng cities. The automobile industry in Zhengzhou has formed a product structure led by large and medium-sized buses, cars, new energy vehicles, light commercial vehicles, SUVs, pickup trucks and refitted vehicles. It has cultivated six manufacturers of whole automobile, more than 10 manufacturers of special-purpose vehicle and more than 150 manufacturers of automobile spare parts, with an annual output of 150 billion yuan and foreign trade volume totaling over 6.6 billion yuan.
3. Engineering Machinery Foreign Trade Industrial Base in Luoyang
This base has more than 500 enterprises in the industrial chain, such as YTO Group Corporation, CITIC Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., with the output of characteristic industries of 22 billion yuan and the total foreign trade volume of 1.5 billion yuan. A total of 467 products "manufactured in Luoyang" have been exported worldwide and used in a number of national key projects such as manned space flights, "Jiaolong" manned submersible, "Liaoning" aircraft carrier, high-speed trains, National Center for the Performing Arts and C919 aircrafts.
4. Non-ferrous Metals Foreign Trade Industrial Base in Western Henan
This base is distributed in Jiyuan, Sanmenxia and Luoyang where non-ferrous metals abound. Jiyuan is hailed as Asia's largest base of lead and zinc metallurgy and production in Asia, China's largest silver production base and a signification base of non-ferrous circular economy industry. Sanmenxia has formed three competitive non-ferrous industries that are gold, aluminum and copper and its gold production ranks the second nationwide for 33 consecutive years with annual aluminum oxide production accounting for 50% of the provincial total, and cathode copper's annual production of 520,000 tons and annual value of 30 billion yuan. Luoyang ranks first nationwide in the reserve of molybdenum minerals with the valuation of non-ferrous metals industry of 60 billion yuan.
5. Shorn Sheepskin Products Foreign Trade Industrial Base in Jiaozuo
This base, led by Henan Prosper, uses the industrial cluster in Mengzhou City and the fur industrial park in Nanzhuang town as main carriers, with an annual output of 10.9 billion yuan and total foreign trade volume of over 2.8 billion yuan, playing a pivotal role in the development of the industry of shore sheepskin products in China and beyond.
6. New Petrochemical Materials and Equipment Foreign Trade Industrial Base in Puyang
This base boasts more than 600 companies, and oil and gas products of 2,300 varieties involved in 8 links such as drilling and cleaning, with an annual output of 58 billion yuan, annual foreign trade volume of 4.6 billion yuan, and products exported to America, Singapore, Italy, India, South Korea, Japan and other countries.
7. Hair Products Foreign Trade Industrial Base in Xuchang
Xuchang, as China's largest production base and export base of hair products, and the largest distribution center of raw materials and finished products, enjoys a long history, a solid industrial foundation and other advantages. The city has more than 200 hair products exporters and more than 300,000 relevant employees, with an annual output of 23.6 billion yuan, and the total foreign trade volume of more than 14 billion yuan, accounting for more than half of the national total.

10. Outdoor Recreation Foreign Trade Industrial Base in Pingyu
Pingyu County in Zhumadian City has become the largest outdoor recreation industrial base in central Henan where 6 outdoor recreation companies and over 300 workshops offer jobs to surplus rural labor of more than 20,000 people to alleviate poverty. With products ranging from rattan furniture, sunshade products, outdoor first-aid kits to hardware tools and accessories, its annual output totals 1.4 billion yuan with foreign trade volume exceeding 1.1 billion yuan.
