On February 26, according to the preparatory working group of the 13th China (Henan) International Investment & Trade Fair (hereinafter referred to as “CHIITF (Henan)”), the 13th CHIITF (Henan) would be held in Zhengzhou from April 8 to 11, 2019 simultaneously with Ancestor Worship Ceremony in Hometown of Yellow Emperor. Executives from Fortune Global 500 enterprises and multinational corporations, executives from Fortune China 500 enterprises, central enterprises, industry leading companies and famous enterprises in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and heads of international organizations and well-known business associations at home and abroad would be invited to participate.
During the CHIITF (Henan), four key activities and 13 thematic activities will be held.
Approved by the Central People’s Government of the PRC, CHIITF (Henan) is the largest, the most influential, top-notch, international event in Henan. It also serves as the best platform for Henan Province to expand the influence of opening-up and undertake win-win cooperation with the world. And 12 consecutive sessions have been held. Co-hosted by the Henan Provincial People’s Government, the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the CHIITF (Henan) is themed as “Opening-up and Cooperation, Brilliant Central Plain” and takes the Zhengzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center as its main venue.
Zhang Yanming, Director of Organizing Committee Office of the 13th CHIITF (Henan), introduced that, focused on the core goals and tasks, there were four key activities, activities for guest country and foreign sister provinces (states), 13 thematic activities, as well as professional thematic activities hosted by the governments at city and county level in Henan Province, other provinces and cities, and key enterprises during the 13th CHIITF (Henan). In addition, a parallel session would be set up in Luoyang.
The key activities include the Opening Ceremony, “Air Silk Road” Economic Cooperation Forum, Matchmaking for Cross-border Investment and Trade Projects of Industrial and Commercial Enterprises, Zhengzhou Forum on International Business Environment. While the Opening Ceremony of the Guest of Honor Hall and Economic and Trade Cooperation Conferences Between Guest of Honor and Foreign Sister Provinces (States) are activities for guest country and foreign sister provinces (states). The activities and participation details of the exhibition are under discussion. As we mentioned above, there are 13 thematic activities. They are Asian Economic Development Summit, Matchmaking for China (Henan)-UK Economic and Trade Cooperation, Matchmaking for China (Henan)-Germany Economic and Trade, International Investment Cooperation Forum for Commercial Vehicle Industry, Dialogue on Construction of Henan-Hong Kong International Logistics Hub, Investment and Financing Fair for Construction and Quality Improvement of a Hundred Towns in Henan Province, Henan Ecotourism Investment Promotion and Cultural Industry Projects Fair (the First International Homestay Investment Conference in Henan Province), The Belt and Road Overseas Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum, International Summit Forum on Antibody Medicine Development, Matchmaking on Overseas Chinese High-end Talents Contributing to Innovation and Development, China (Henan)-Latin America Trade and Investment Entrepreneurs Summit, Henan-Hong Kong-Macao Young Entrepreneurs Forum, and The Belt and Road Her Economy & Her Consumption Cooperation Forum and Projects Matchmaking Negotiation.
In addition, during the fair, activities such as Symposium on Excellent Businessmen from Henan Province Help Central Plain to be More Brilliant and Matchmaking for China (Henan) Foreign Trade Industrial Base Project will also be organized. And activities hosted by cities directly under the Henan Provincial People’s Government, relevant business associations and well-known enterprises for investment promotion, trade matchmaking, and project cooperation will also be encouraged. The parallel session in Luoyang serves as a supporting platform for activities held by other provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) during the fair. Meanwhile, Chinese people and businessmen of interest can participate in the 2019 Ancestor Worship Ceremony in Hometown of Yellow Emperor on April 7. Cities directly under the Henan Provincial People’s Government, counties (cities and districts) and Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone should invite attending businessmen to make on-site investigation and negotiation.

Compared with the previous sessions, the 13th CHIITF (Henan) will be more international, high-end and precise. Zhang Yanming introduced that the 13th CHIITF (Henan) served as an important window for the international community to understand Henan and an important bridge for Henan enterprises to go global. Thus, it is the inherent requirement for the fair to highlight internationalization. On invitation to travelling merchants, foreign guests are more widely invited to deepen the degree of internationalization. It has not only invited executives of Fortune Global 500 enterprises and well-known enterprises that have invested in Henan Province, but also invited famous overseas enterprises that have investment intention to participate in the fair. It has invited well-known business associations at home and abroad, such as the China-Britain Business Council and AHK, as well as investment and trade promotion agencies. It has invited Hungary, Thailand, the Walloon Region of Belgium and Carinthia of Austria to participate in the fair as the guest country or sister provinces (states). Well-known overseas experts and scholars and foreign envoys to China will also be invited to attend the fair. Thematic activities such as “2019 Asian Economic Development Summit”, “Matchmaking for China (Henan)-UK Economic and Trade Cooperation” and “Matchmaking for China (Henan)-Germany Economic and Trade” will be held. The CHIITF (Henan) has initially formed the mechanism for international exchange and cooperation that faces the world, and covers multiple fields involving economy and trade, investment and technology. It has further highlighted its role of window and bridge for central region of China to march towards the world.
With the expansion of Henan’s opening-up, the transformation of economic structure, the level of opening-up and cooperation has continuously improved. In addition, it invites executives from Fortune Global 500 enterprises, Fortune China 500 enterprises, multinational corporations and well-known enterprises, as well as heads of famous business associations, well-known experts and scholars. On project screening, the 13th CHIITF (Henan) will combine the dominant advantageous industrial development of Henan Province, emphasize the high-end projects and the ones with enormous growth potential, and well perform various works concerning project collection, screening, packaging, presentation, matchmaking and negotiation based on the “five zones cooperation”, “coordination of silk road on air, land, online and sea”, and strategy and construction of four strong provinces, so as to strive for the negotiation, signing and implementation of a batch of major projects.
