On March 19, the Organizing Committee of China Henan International Investment & Trade Fair held a press conference in Shenzhen and reported the latest progress.
Chen Kaijie, Deputy Director of the Organizing Committee Office and Henan Provincial Free Trade Office, introduced the overall arrangement of the Fair. It is learned that the 13th Fair is co-hosted by the People’s Government of Henan Province, Ministry of Commerce of China, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries with the theme of “Opening up and Cooperation Makes Central Plain More Brilliant”. Its major contents involve thematic promotion, industrial matchmaking, project negotiation and exhibition.
Schedule of “4+13” Events
Centering on core goals and tasks, the Fair arranges 4 key events and 13 thematic events.
4 key events include the opening ceremony, 2019 "Air Silk Road" Economic Cooperation Forum, 2019 Industrial and Commercial Enterprises Investment and Trade Event and Zhengzhou Forum on International Business Environment.
13 thematic events include the 2019 Asian Economic Development Summit, Matchmaking for China (Henan)-UK Economic and Trade Cooperation of 2019, Matchmaking for China (Henan)-Germany Economic and Trade of 2019, International Investment Cooperation Forum for Commercial Vehicle Industry, Dialogue on Construction of Henan-Hong Kong International Logistics Hub, Investment and Financing Fair for Construction and Quality Improvement of a Hundred Towns in Henan Province, Henan-Hong Kong-Macao Young Entrepreneurs Forum, and Her Economy & Her Consumption Cooperation Forum and Projects Matchmaking Negotiation.
Two Guest Countries for the First Time
The Fair will respectively hold the opening ceremony for exhibition areas of guest countries and sister provinces (states), the China (Henan)-Hungary Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum and other guest country events.
Su Guobao, Minister for Integrated Coordination of the Organizing Committee Office and Executive Deputy Director of Henan Opening-up Office, told journalists that Hungary and Thailand had been determined as guest countries of the Fair. Journalists have learned that 12 Henan International Investment & Trade Fairs have been held successfully and it is the first time for the Fair to have two guest countries. This manifests that the 13th Fair will be more international, high-end and targeted.
The above events will be carried out perfectly. In addition, during the Fair, 6 special events, such as the China (Henan) Pilot Free Trade Zone High-quality Development Forum and Symposium on Excellent Businessmen from Henan Province Help Central Plain to be More Brilliant will be organized. And 11 special events will be hosted by cities directly under Henan Provincial Government. A parallel session will be set up in Luoyang, supporting other provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government) in hosting events through the Fair.
The Coordination of Industrialization, Urbanization and Agricultural Modernization Makes Central Plain More Brilliant
Compared with previous ones, the 13th Fair will be more international, high-end and targeted.
To be more international, the 13th Fair widely invites overseas guests and determines two guest countries for the first time. Guest countries will dispatch high-standard delegations to the Fair. Related ministerial, provincial and state officials and former political leaders from more than 30 countries, including Russia, Austria, Brazil and South Africa, also confirmed their participation; a group of ambassadors and counsellors to China will attend the Fair; Wallonia of Belgium and Washington of USA will send their delegations for the attendance.
The executives of Fortune Global 500 enterprises and multinational corporations, including Henkel in Germany, Sumitomo Corporation in Japan and YUM, the executives of China's top 500 and industry leading enterprises, including COFCO Group, JD and Red Star Macalline, and those of the internationally well-known enterprises, such as EATON in USA and Cargolux in Luxembourg will attend the Fair.
To be more high-end, the Fair will be co-hosted by four sponsors with higher attention from Chinese ministries and commissions and a larger scale. In terms of event arrangement, the Fair centers on the BRI, innovation-driven development and other national strategies and arranges thematic forums and matchmaking events, which demonstrates that Henan is actively implementing national strategies.
To be more targeted, the Fair will adhere to the principle of dealing with concrete issues, give play to resource advantages of all sides, precisely invite merchants through multiple channels, bring enterprises into play and attract investment with the help of enterprises. In terms of project selection, the Fair integrates the development of Henan's leading and competitive industries with high-end and high-growth projects, striving for the negotiation, matchmaking, signing and implementation of various major projects. In terms of exhibition, the Fair centers on Henan's resource endowment and industrial emphases and focuses on demonstrating the new achievements and opportunities in Henan's opening-up and development as well as the industrial advantages, cultural tourism resources and other aspects of each region.
Chen Kaijie stated that the Fair was a window to learn about Henan and a bridge for communication and cooperation. Henan will offer strong policy support for foreign investors in land, fiscal taxation, finance, talent and other aspects and make efforts to create a market-oriented and law-based international business environment.
